Corporate Responsibility

Aviva recognises the importance of practices that contribute to Corporate Responsibility and a sustainable earth.

For some years, interest in corporate environmental performance has broadened out to embrace areas such as community relations, business ethics and the environment.

Aviva has developed a corporate responsibility program that actively seeks to make a contribution in these areas.

As part of our commitment to corporate responsibility we are engaged in the following dedicated programs:

Corporate Responsibility Report

Aviva believe that sound and demonstrable performance in relation to corporate responsibility (CR) policies and practices is a fundamental part of business success. The groupwide CR policy commits Aviva to managing our direct and indirect impacts on the societies in which we operate.

An annual report is published by Aviva Plc on the Group's corporate responsibility performance. CR reports on data relating to: environmental practice and impacts, health and safety, human rights, community programs and corporate citizenship, customer service, workforce engagement, partnerships with suppliers and standards of business.

Our parent company Aviva Plc is a signature member to the United Nations Environmental Protection - Financial Initiatives.

Membership requires companies to reach environmental practice benchmarks and to work towards meeting attainment targets.

Aviva is also a signatory to the federal government's Greenhouse Challenge, a program that audits companies and recommends practices to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
